HAPCSO uses an integrated approach and partners with existing indigenous organizations in an effort to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS through its four major programs:
Prevention:
- Organize HIV/AIDS prevention workshops and seminars for high school students, teachers, women’s associations and other community based organizations.
- Educate the most vulnerable people: commercial sex workers and factory workers.
- Promote voluntary counseling and testing.
Scheduled Care:
- Provide home-based care that is accessible, equitable and efficient.
- Enable and empower health professionals to care and cope with PLWHA’s in their community.
- Visit patients and families to teach them proper care and treatment for opportunistic infections.
Orphan Support:
- Provide comprehensive orphan support.
- Skill training for orphans/older siblings.
Community Capacity Building:
- Enhance the collective capacity of the community to provide care and support.
- Home based care training of peer educators and volunteers.
- Teach patients’ families about proper care and treatment for opportunistic infections.
